Goodbye Guruji is a heartwarming Assamese film directed by Arunji Borah and produced by NFDC (National Film Development Corporation of India). The film had its world premiere at the Festival Gange Sur Seine in Paris, France, on October 14th, 2025, marking a proud moment for Assamese cinema on the international stage.

Set in the serene landscape of rural Assam, the story follows Prayash Saikia, affectionately known as Guruji — a passionate young teacher determined to revive the joy of learning at Kinkinia Primary School. Through his unconventional teaching methods, Guruji rekindles curiosity and imagination in his students, bringing education back to the heart of the community.

Interwoven within this contemporary narrative is the mythological tale of “Kansa Badh”, drawn from Assam’s 500-year-old Bhaona theatre tradition.
