BIOGRAPHY

Partha Pratim Hazarika,Partha Pratim Hazarika was born and raised in Narayanpur, Assam, in a family devoted to the Sattriya tradition. Immersed in the spiritual and performative practices of Sattriya Dance and Ankiya Bhaona since the age of four, his artistic journey began within the sacred rhythms of Assam’s monastic culture. Over time, this foundation blossomed into a pursuit that bridges devotion, philosophy, and modern artistry.

A graduate of Cotton University with a Master’s in Economics and an alumnus of the National School of Drama, New Delhi, Partha brings together intellectual inquiry and emotional truth in his work. His training has enabled him to view performance as both a spiritual offering and a medium for contemporary reflection.

A Graded Artist of Doordarshan and recipient of the National Young Artist Award from the Ministry of Culture, Partha’s journey spans across classical dance, theatre, and cinema. His performances are marked by an instinctive blend of discipline and sensitivity — a dialogue between tradition and the modern human condition.

His cinematic debut in Sundarpur Chaos earned him multiple accolades, including the Best Debut Actor at the Prag Cine Awards, and established him as one of Assam’s most compelling new faces on screen. He further rose to prominence portraying the legendary Zubeen Garg in Bhaimon Da, a performance that garnered him the Mirchi Rising Star Northeast Award.

Having collaborated with theatre directors and artists from across the world, and choreographed for international productions, Partha continues to explore performance as a living exchange between cultures. His work reflects an ongoing quest — to translate the soul of tradition into the language of contemporary expression.
